David Seaman reveal that he is aware of Arsenal’s intense efforts to recruit a top-tier striker, with the club working diligently to secure the player’s signature ahead of the January transfer window’s closure.
Arsenal legend David Seaman has revealed that the club is “trying like mad” to secure a marquee striker before the January transfer window closes. Speaking candidly on talkSPORT, Seaman, who is well-connected with the club, emphasized the urgency and determination behind Arsenal’s search for a top-class forward to bolster their squad.
Seaman explained that the necessity for a new striker has become increasingly apparent, especially following Gabriel Jesus’ season-ending ACL injury. This has left Arsenal with a significant gap in their attacking options, prompting a concerted effort to bring in a high-caliber replacement.
“I know for a fact that Arsenal are trying like mad to sign a marquee striker,” Seaman stated. “They understand the importance of having a reliable goal scorer, and they’re pulling out all the stops to make it happen.”
Seaman also acknowledged the contributions of Kai Havertz, who has been filling in as a forward. Despite his efforts, Seaman believes that Arsenal needs a more prolific goal scorer to maintain their competitive edge in the Premier League and beyond.
The former Arsenal goalkeeper hinted at potential targets, including RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen. However, he also noted the challenges of securing such high-profile signings in the January transfer window.
While the clock is ticking, Seaman remains optimistic that Arsenal’s efforts will pay off. “The club is doing everything they can to get the right player in. Whether it happens now or in the summer, they’re committed to strengthening the squad.”
