Arsenal’s Jorginho has stated that the opportunity to compete in Brazil would be an ‘incredible experience’ as speculation regarding his future with the club grows.
Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has admitted that the opportunity to play in Brazil would be an “incredible experience” as speculation mounts over his future at the club. The Italian international, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in 2023, has seen his playing time reduced this season.
Jorginho extended his previous contract by another 12 months last summer, but the midfielder’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Jorginho has been linked with a move to Brazilian clubs Flamengo and Palmeiras. In an interview with TNT Sport, when asked about rumours surrounding his exit. He stated that Things happen very quickly in football, things can happen overnight, but my mind is on the next game.
‘Football is a box of surprises, as we all know, but my goal is to think about the next game. I don’t even look, because it always happens. Every window that opens is always crazy, with a lot of information, a lot of things, a lot of talk.
‘But if you stop to think about all the talk you always have, then you end up wasting a lot of energy and it ends up affecting your work where you are. So my goal, as I said before, is to focus on where I am, which is here today, so that’s it.’
But when asked if a move to Brazil could be on the cards in the future, Jorginho expressed his openness to the idea, stating, “It’s a possibility, yes, in the future. It would be an incredible experience for me as I’ve never played professionally in Brazil.”
While Jorginho remains focused on his current duties with Arsenal, he acknowledged that football is full of surprises and that he is keeping his options open. The midfielder’s potential move to Brazil has generated significant interest, with Flamengo reportedly offering a three-year deal worth in the region of €10million (£8.5m).
