Tim Sherwood has shared his prediction for the Premier League’s top four as Liverpool and Arsenal battle for the title and several teams compete for Champions League spot.
Former Premier League manager Tim Sherwood has shared his predictions for the final standings of Arsenal and Chelsea in this season’s Premier League race. Sherwood believes that Liverpool will ultimately win the title, but he has also given his thoughts on the top-four race.
Sherwood predicts that Arsenal will secure second place, praising their consistency and resilience throughout the season. He acknowledges that Arsenal has had a few setbacks but believes they have the quality to finish strongly.
Sherwood also mentioned that Manchester City will likely secure third place, with a strong finish to the season potentially pushing them into the Champions League spots.
As for Chelsea, Sherwood expects them to finish in fourth place. He commends Chelsea’s performance under new manager Enzo Maresca, noting their ability to score goals and compete at the top end of the table.
In an interview with Metro, Sherwood said, “I think at this stage you would be mad to say Liverpool won’t win the Premier League. They’ve got the experience across the team and they’ve got world-class players in every position. Liverpool are uncatchable for me.”
He added, “It’s a dogfight for the rest of the positions, but I think Arsenal will find a rhythm and be tough to catch for some of the other teams that are looking at that top-four. They had that sticky patch – exiting the FA Cup and they have a mountain to climb in the League Cup – and I don’t think they can win the league. But it’s not a write-off season for Arsenal.”
Sherwood’s top-four prediction is as follows:
1. Liverpool
2. Arsenal
3. Manchester City
4. Chelsea
Sherwood believes that Manchester City will put a run together and push Arsenal for second place. He also thinks City are capable of winning the Champions League. Despite Nottingham Forest and Newcastle’s strong performances, Sherwood expects Chelsea to secure the final top-four spot, praising Maresca for turning the team around.
Sherwood concluded, “I think Forest will just drop out. Nuno [Espirito Santo] has done an amazing job and they’re such a well-drilled and organised team with a great counter-attack. But I think Chelsea will get it. Enzo Maresca has turned them around despite this little blip. They weren’t ready to challenge for the title but they’re certainly making strides forward and I think they will get fourth, just.”
