Arsenal legend Ian Wright is calling on Stan Kroenke and the board to make signings in the January transfer window.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has made a passionate plea to Arsenal’s board, urging them to back manager Mikel Arteta with new signings during the January transfer window. Wright’s demand comes amid concerns over the team’s current form and injury woes.

Arsenal is currently six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and is 2-0 down after the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Newcastle United. The team also lost to Manchester United in the FA Cup third round.

Wright highlighted the impact of injuries on the squad, mentioning the recent absence of key players like Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard. Saka, who has been Arsenal’s standout player this season with nine goals and 13 assists, is not expected to return until March. Odegaard’s return from an ankle injury has coincided with Arsenal’s revival, but Wright fears that the team’s progress could be derailed without reinforcements.

Speaking to ITV Sport, Wright emphasized the need for Arsenal to strengthen their squad to maintain their challenge on multiple fronts. He stressed that the manager needs help and that a signing or two could make a significant difference. Wright specifically mentioned the need for a centre-forward and a winger to bolster the attack.

Arsenal has been linked with several players, including Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, who has been in sensational form this season. Wright believes Isak could be the best centre-forward in European football at the moment.
