Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus picked up an injury during the FA Cup match against Manchester United.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on Gabriel Jesus following the striker’s injury during the FA Cup third-round match against Manchester United. Jesus was forced off the pitch with a knee injury in the 40th minute and had to be carried off on a stretcher.
Arteta expressed his concern about Jesus’ injury, stating, “Big worry, that’s my feeling. He had to come off with a stretcher with a lot of pain, touching his knee. It’s not looking good.” The manager confirmed that Jesus was taken home rather than to the hospital and that the injury is being assessed.
The severity of Jesus’ injury is yet to be determined, but Arteta admitted that it was a significant blow to the team. Jesus has been in excellent form recently, scoring six goals in his last six games, and his absence will be felt in the upcoming fixtures.
Arteta praised the team’s efforts despite the setback, saying, “I could not be prouder of my players, individually and collectively, for what they produced on Wednesday against two top teams. They did incredible but they haven’t got rewarded and that’s the downside to it.”
