Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has offered a concerning injury update on Bukayo Saka following his early departure from Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Arsenal’s title hopes have been dealt a significant blow after manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that star winger Bukayo Saka will be out for “many weeks” due to a hamstring injury. Saka, who has been instrumental for Arsenal this season with nine goals and 13 assists in 24 games, picked up the injury during the first half of the Gunners’ 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

The injury occurred when Saka signaled to the bench after a cross and was subsequently replaced by Leandro Trossard. Arteta expressed his concern, stating, “It’s not looking good. He’s going to be out for many weeks. It’s a huge blow, but it will be a good exercise for all of us to overcome another challenge because we’ve had a lot in the season.”

This is Saka’s third hamstring injury this season, and while Arteta did not provide an exact timeframe for his return, recovery for a moderate hamstring injury typically ranges between four to six weeks. However, given the busy schedule ahead, including crucial fixtures like the second North London derby, the Carabao Cup semi-final, and several Champions League and FA Cup matches, Saka’s absence could be even more impactful.

Arsenal will now have to rely on other players to step up in Saka’s absence. Arteta mentioned that Gabriel Jesus, Ethan Nwaneri, Leandro Trossard, and Kai Havertz could all be options to fill the void left by Saka.
