Arsenal have received a significant boost ahead of their Carabao Cup semi-final clash against Newcastle United, as two key Newcastle players, Bruno Guimaraes and Fabian Schar, will be suspended for the first leg.

Both Guimaraes and Schar received their second yellow cards in the quarter-final victory over Brentford, triggering an automatic one-match suspension under EFL rules. This means that Newcastle will be without their influential Brazilian midfielder and experienced centre-back for the crucial first leg at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will undoubtedly see this as a major advantage as his side aims to secure a place in the final at Wembley Stadium. The Gunners will be looking to capitalize on the absence of Guimaraes and Schar to gain an early advantage in the tie.

With the first leg scheduled for the week commencing January 6, 2025, and the second leg for the week commencing February 3, 2025, Arsenal will be eager to make the most of this opportunity and advance to the final.
