Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli is reportedly targeting Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus to strengthen their attacking line. the Saudi Pro League is known for their ambitious transfer moves, with aims to attract more star players to elevate the country’s football standards.
According to reports from Arriyadiyah, the club is targeting big names to bolster their squad. Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus and Tottenham’s Richarlison are reportedly their primary targets.
The 27-year-old Brazilian international has caught Al-Ahli’s attention. Jesus, began his Premier League career with Manchester City in 2017 after rising through Palmeiras’ ranks, moved to Arsenal in the summer of 2022 seeking regular first-team action after falling down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola.
At Arsenal, Jesus has been a consistent performer for Mikel Arteta, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists in 36 appearances last season. However, with three years left on his contract, speculation about his future has grown as Arsenal looks for a more traditional number nine.
Despite his quality, Jesus does not fit the mold of an out-and-out striker that Arteta desires, leading to reports that he could be on the move before the transfer window closes. Al-Ahli’s interest in Jesus is part of their strategy to sign high-profile players and enhance their squad, which already includes former Premier League stars like Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez, and Allan Saint-Maximin.
After finishing third in the Saudi Pro League last season, Al-Ahli is determined to close the gap with Al Nassr and champions Al Hilal, viewing Jesus as a key addition to achieving this goal.
