Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has given the latest update on the fitness of his squad, including Gabriel Magalhaes, ahead of their Premier League clash with Everton.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given an update on the fitness of his squad ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash with Everton at the Emirates Stadium. Arteta provided both positive and cautious news regarding several key players.

Gabriel Magalhaes, who has been out with a muscular injury, trained today and there is a possibility he could be available for the match. Arteta stated, “There is a possibility [for Gabriel] to be available. He trained today. We will see tomorrow.” This is a hopeful sign for Arsenal fans, as Gabriel’s defensive presence is crucial for the team.

Unfortunately, Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko have been ruled out for the match. Calafiori has been dealing with a groin issue, while Zinchenko has been absent due to a muscle problem. Arteta mentioned that they are respecting the medical department’s timelines and monitoring their progress daily.

Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain long-term absentees with knee problems and are not expected to return until next year. Their absence has added to the defensive challenges Arteta has faced this season.

Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber were also doubts heading into the match after missing training, but they managed to participate in the recent Champions League game against Monaco. Arteta emphasized the importance of managing player minutes to avoid further injuries.

Arteta acknowledged the injury woes caused by harsh tackles and the demanding schedule. “We have some that have been through tackles, for example, that are again quite difficult to avoid. And the other ones probably is overload, the amount of minutes that they have to play,” he said. The manager highlighted the need to balance player fitness and squad rotation to maintain performance levels.
