Emmanuel Petit blasts Chelsea and Arsenal flop who has ‘lost his hunger’

Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder, Emmanuel Petit, has expressed his disappointment over Raheem Sterling’s recent performances, suggesting that the Arsenal loanee has lost his hunger for the game. Sterling, who joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea, has struggled to make an impact this season.

Since his move to Arsenal, Sterling has started just one Premier League game and has been overshadowed by players like Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Petit believes that something is not right with Sterling this season, stating, “If you take away his speed, what else does he offer?”

Petit, who played alongside Sterling during his time at Manchester City, feels that the English forward no longer has the same ambition and drive as he did in his younger years. “I think he thinks that he’s achieved all he needs to achieve in football and this isn’t how it works in top-level professional football,” Petit told Gambling Zone.

Petit also mentioned that Chelsea will likely put Sterling on the transfer market in the summer, and he will need to cut his wages if he wants to leave. “If not, he will stay and no one will ever see him on the team sheet again,” Petit added.
