Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah might be on his way out, with French club Olympique de Marseille starting negotiations to sign him. Nketiah has struggled for playing time under Mikel Arteta, who prefers Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus upfront. This potential move aligns with Arsenal’s goal to raise funds during the transfer window.

According to Foot Mercato, Marseille has made an initial bid for Nketiah, who is reportedly interested in the move. Talks between the clubs and negotiations over personal terms for the English striker are ongoing.

Despite having a contract with Arsenal until 2027, Eddie Nketiah faces an uncertain future in North London due to fierce competition playing upfront. He is open to a move this summer, and Marseille has tabled an official offer for him. His potential departure from Arsenal seems increasingly likely.

Marseille has recently signed Mason Greenwood from Manchester United for a reported fee of Β£26.6 million. It is expected that Arsenal’s sports director, Edu, would want a higher fee for Nketiah, given his significant Premier League experience and contract, which expires in 2027.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s transfer to Liverpool for Β£40 million in 2017 still stands as Arsenal’s highest sale to date. The current situation with Eddie Nketiah presents Arsenal with a stronger position for negotiations, particularly when compared to Folarin Balogun’s sale last summer, which involved a fee of Β£34.3 million along with a sell-on clause.

With Marseille expressing interest and Arsenal hoping to capitalize on the chance to raise funds, the transfer situation surrounding Nketiah is taking shape.
