Ian Wright urges Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, and Raheem Sterling to raise their performance levels ahead of a crucial winter period for the club.
Arsena legend Ian Wright has called on Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, and Raheem Sterling to “step up” as the club enters a crucial winter period. Speaking on The Kelly & Wright Show, Wright emphasized the importance of these players delivering strong performances to help Arsenal in their title chase.
Wright believes that Martinelli, Jesus, and Sterling need to rise to the occasion, especially with the team’s recent form and the challenges ahead. “For Martinelli, Jesus, and Sterling, I think this is a really big moment at this stage of the season for them to step up if called upon to deliver something. They have to,” Wright said.
Arsenal has shown promise recently, winning their last three games across all competitions. However, with Liverpool opening up a nine-point lead at the top of the table, every point is crucial. Wright highlighted the need for these key players to contribute significantly if Arsenal is to catch up with Liverpool and fend off other title contenders like Chelsea.
The Gunners’ next challenge is against Manchester United at the Emirates on Wednesday night. Wright sees this match as a must-win for Arsenal and believes that Martinelli, Jesus, and Sterling’s performances will be pivotal. “It’s a game Arsenal have to win. I think it’s a free hit for Manchester United with their improvement, but for us, it’s a must-win,” he added.
