Manchester United are in the mix to sign promising young striker Chido Obi-Martin after the expiry of his schoolboy terms at Arsenal. The 16-year-old recently visited United’s training facilities, with discussions about a potential move underway.

Arsenal offered Obi-Martin a standard scholarship deal that would transit into a professional contract when he turns 17.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal offered ‘what they felt was a fair offer’ to the striker. However, the forward opted to pursue other options. While Manchester City isn’t among the interested clubs, United are seriously considering bringing him in.

Obi-Martin, who joined Arsenal from Denmark in 2022, has been a prolific scorer at youth levels. He grabbed headlines with a 10-goal performance for Arsenal’s U16s against Liverpool and followed that up with consistent scoring across various U18s matches. He also boasts an impressive record with the Danish U17 national team.

With his impressive goal-scoring record and interest from a big club like Manchester United, Obi-Martin is certainly a young talent to watch.
