William Saliba expresses delight at Martin Odegaard’s return to fitness, praising his captain as one of the world’s top midfielders.

Arsenal defender William Saliba has voiced his delight at Martin Odegaard’s return to the club, claiming that he is one of the best three midfielders in the world. Odegaard, who had been sidelined for two months due to an ankle injury sustained on international duty with Norway, made a triumphant return to the pitch in Arsenal’s recent matches.

Saliba’s praise for Odegaard came after the team’s impressive performances, including a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest and a 5-1 victory against Sporting CP in the Champions League. According to Saliba, Odegaard’s presence on the field has been transformative for the team.

“I think he’s one of the best midfielders in the world and we are so happy to have him back,” Saliba told Arsenal’s official website. “We are better with him, so I hope he won’t get injured again. Of course, we have to enjoy playing with him. We can see since he’s back, we are better. He’s top three [in the world]. I don’t want to put too much pressure on him, but I think top three. I love this guy.”

Odegaard’s return has coincided with a significant upturn in Arsenal’s form. The team had struggled during his absence, dropping down the Premier League table. However, with Odegaard back in action, Arsenal has regained its momentum and confidence.

Saliba also highlighted Odegaard’s professionalism and dedication to his recovery. “He worked hard at the training ground, so I’m not surprised that he came back like this, but of course, it’s not easy when you haven’t played for four weeks to come back at this level, I’m not in shock, he’s a top professional.”
