According to Il Resto del Carlino Arsenal remain keen on signing Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, but the Italian club is holding firm on their valuation.
Bologna are demanding a fee closer to €50 million, while Arsenal’s initial offer was around €45 million. The Italian team is also attempting to negotiate with Basel to reduce the 50% commission on future sales, but the Swiss seem uninterested. As a result, the Rossoblù have requested that Arsenal submit another proposal, stating that they would not sell for less than €50M.
Arsenal have offered a loan with obligation to buy for Polish centre-back Kiwior (24) in an attempt to break the deadlock: Bologna have refused.
Calafiori is eager to join Arsenal and has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Gunners. However, the deal hinges on the two clubs reaching an agreement on the transfer fee.
