Arsenal transfer target Amadou Onana, is close to joining Aston Villa, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.
The Everton midfielder has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent months, but he is reportedly set to join Villa Park in a £50 million deal.
Mikel Arteta is actively seeking a defensive midfielder to bolster his squad and provide support for Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
One of the names previously linked to Arsenal was Everton star Amadou Onana. However, recent reports indicate that Onana is now close to finalizing a move to Aston Villa, with a deal worth approximately £50 million. While Onana brings size, physicality, and strength in driving the ball forward, his passing ability falls short compared to players like Partey and Jorginho.
Arsenal has also been linked with other midfield targets, including Mikel Merino, Martin Zubimendi, Dani Olmo and Joao Neves. Finally, Onana’s transfer to Villa seems certain, partly because of their Champions League qualification and the chance to work with former Arsenal manager Unai Emery.
