According to Sports Zone, Arsenal has made progress in securing a deal with 22-year-old Bologna center-back Riccardo Calafiori.
The Italian player had also been in talks with Juventus, but Bologna preferred not to sell him to another Italian club.
Arsenal’s convincing project and significant wage offer have put them ahead in the race for Calafiori’s signature, although they haven’t yet reached an agreement with Bologna.
Earlier today it was reported that Arsenal are making progress in a move for the defender, Arsenal are willing to offer €4 million per season wage to the Bologna star, while Bologna wants €50 million for permanent sale.
TuttoBologna have reported that
Arsenal continue to push for the player’s signature and they aim to close the move as soon as they can. While they are yet to reach an agreement with Bologna, their wish to meet their demands gives them a significant advantage over the other clubs, with Chelsea is also interested in the defender.
Bologna, however, is considering offering Calafiori a new contract as they prepare for Champions League football next season.
