Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made it clear that teenage sensations Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly should be considered first-team players, with both in contention to play against Liverpool this Sunday. Arteta’s comments come as Arsenal faces an injury crisis, with several key players sidelined.

Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly have been making waves at Arsenal, both having come through the Hale End Academy. Nwaneri, who became the youngest-ever Premier League player two years ago, has already made four appearances this season, including scoring twice in the Carabao Cup win over Bolton Wanderers. Lewis-Skelly, on the other hand, made a memorable senior debut off the bench in a challenging match away at Manchester City.

Arteta has shown great confidence in the young duo, stating, “They are there. They are in contention. They always give us the option and the possibility to start the game.” He further added, “They are first-team players. They are with us and we treat them and value them the same way as any other player.”

With Arsenal dealing with injuries to key players like Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber, and Riccardo Calafiori, Arteta is considering giving Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly a chance to shine against Liverpool. The match is crucial as Arsenal aims to bounce back from a shock defeat to Bournemouth and continue their push for a top spot in the Premier League table.
