Arsenal and La Liga giant Barcelona have both reignited their interest in Aston Villa’s young Colombian striker Jhon Durán. Despite Durán recently signing a contract extension with Villa, his impressive performances have caught the attention of these two European giants.

Barcelona has been linked with Durán for some time now. The Catalan club attempted to approach Durán before his contract extension but financial difficulties may hinder their ability to meet Aston Villa’s asking price of €90 million. (approximately £75 million) Barcelona’s financial constraints could be a significant obstacle in their pursuit of the talented forward.

On the other hand, Arsenal seems to be in a better position to secure Durán’s signature. Reports suggest that Arsenal could be willing to part ways with Gabriel Jesus next summer, which would open up a spot in their attacking lineup. Mikel Arteta’s side has been closely monitoring Durán’s progress and sees him as a potential long-term solution to their striking issues.

Durán has been a revelation for Aston Villa this season, scoring crucial goals both in the Premier League and the Champions League. His ability to make an impact off the bench has earned him a reputation as one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe. Despite his recent contract extension, Durán’s future remains uncertain, especially if he continues to seek more playing time.
