Arsenal’s talented teenage goalkeeper, Owen Asemota, has joined Aston Villa in a big move in the Premier League’s youth football. The Gunners are set to receive a compensation fee of £1 million for the 16-year-old talent.

Owen Asemota, who has been a part of Arsenal’s Hale End academy for eight years, has shown remarkable potential and growth. His journey with the Gunners has been marked by impressive performances, including a memorable penalty save against Aston Villa at the Under-18 level. Despite being offered a scholarship by Arsenal, Asemota opted for a new challenge with Aston Villa, a decision that demonstrate his ambition and desire for development.

Aston Villa’s academy manager, Mark Harrison, expressed his excitement about the acquisition. “We are delighted Owen has joined us. As you can imagine, a player with his profile was highly sought after. He has very good athletic qualities and ball management skills, which really suit our style of play. We look forward to working with Owen and seeing how he develops over the next few years,” Harrison stated.

Before the move was officially confirmed, Asemota took to Instagram to bid farewell to Arsenal. In his heartfelt message, he thanked the coaches, teammates, and the club for their support and guidance throughout his journey. “This club will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will forever be a Gooner,” he wrote.
