Raheem Sterling made a sensational move from Chelsea to Arsenal on the transfer deadline day, a transfer that has left many in the football world stunned. Among those voicing their opinions is former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, who has described the transfer as “ridiculous.”

The transfer saga began when Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca, made it clear that Sterling had no future at Stamford Bridge. The 29-year-old winger, who has enjoyed a successful career with Manchester City and Liverpool before joining Chelsea, found himself out of the first-team picture. As the transfer window drew to a close, Arsenal seized the opportunity to bring Sterling to the Emirates on a season-long loan.

Rio Ferdinand, speaking on his YouTube channel, expressed his astonishment at the move. He praised Arsenal for what he termed a “brilliant deal,” highlighting Sterling’s experience and winning mentality as invaluable assets for the Gunners. Ferdinand noted that Sterling’s ability to win trophies and his extensive experience in top-flight football make him a significant addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

“What a mad circus act that was, that whole situation, but I’m so happy for Raheem Sterling that this situation got sorted out and he got to go to a club he wanted to go to,” Ferdinand said. He emphasized that Arsenal managed to secure Sterling without paying a loan fee and with the player taking a significant wage cut, making it a low-risk move for the North London club.

Sterling’s arrival at Arsenal is expected to bolster their attacking options, providing depth and experience to a squad aiming for Premier League glory. His presence is seen as a potential game-changer, especially with his track record of winning four Premier League titles. Ferdinand believes that Sterling’s move could be pivotal in Arsenal’s quest for their first league title since 2004.
