Ian Wright Names Arsenal Star to Replace Injured Bukayo Saka Against Liverpool

Bukayo Saka injury update

Ian Wright backs Noni Madueke for Arsenal vs Liverpool clash, urging him to step up in Bukayo Saka’s absence on the right wing.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has named the player he believes should replace Bukayo Saka in the upcoming Premier League clash against Liverpool. With Saka sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Wright backs Noni Madueke as the ideal candidate to step in.

During Arsenal’s dominant 5–0 win over Leeds United, Bukayo Saka suffered a hamstring injury that could keep him out for several weeks. Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the injury was “significant,” raising concerns ahead of Arsenal’s crucial fixture against Liverpool.

Ian Wright’s Recommendation

Speaking on Premier League Productions, (via Metro) Ian Wright emphasized the importance of squad depth and backed Noni Madueke to fill the gap left by Saka. Wright stated:

“Madueke can play this side and this is why you bring in a Madueke. I’m not saying he’s going to play like Saka, but fill that gap.”

Why Noni Madueke Is the Right Choice

Madueke, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea for £48.5 million, made his first start against Leeds. Initially positioned on the left wing, he switched to the right after Saka’s exit and impressed with his pace and direct style. His versatility and attacking threat make him a strong option to replace Saka.

With both Saka and Martin Ødegaard potentially unavailable, Arteta may need to rely on new signings like Eberechi Eze and promising youngster Max Dowman. Madueke’s inclusion could offer Arsenal a fresh dynamic on the right wing, especially in a high-pressure match at Anfield.
