Manchester City midfielder, Rodri recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming Premier League season. In an exclusive interview with Mail Sport at the PFA Awards, he revealed that he expects Arsenal to be their biggest challenger this season.

Manchester City won their fourth consecutive Premier League title last season.

Rodri emphasized that they need to be even better this season because other teams are continually raising their levels. He acknowledged that last season’s title victory was due to small details, and they must maintain high standards to win it again.

Rodri believes that Arsenal, who finished second in the last two seasons behind Man City, will push them to the limit again.

He praised Arsenal’s character and fighting spirit, stating that they can win 20 games in a row. According to Rodri, Arsenal is at the same level as Manchester City, making them strong contenders for the title.

When asked about Arsenal’s chances, having come second in the last two seasons to Man City, Rodri admitted that he reckons they will be pushed to the limit again by Mikel Arteta’s side.

‘They (Arsenal) have done great,’ he said. ‘I would say they’re at the same level as us and for sure, they’re going to be there.

They’ve shown their character and that they can fight until the end. We expect the same team – a team that can win 20 games in a row so we will have to push ourselves to our limits again if we want to win the title,’ Rodri added.
