Mohamed Salah backs Arsenal as Premier League favourite, surprising fans with his bold prediction despite Liverpool’s strong start to the season.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has surprised fans by naming Arsenal as his top favourite to win the Premier League this season. Despite his own club’s strong start and big summer signings, Salah believes Arsenal have the edge.
Speaking at the PFA Awards, Salah said, “I think you [Arsenal] have a great team this season. You have a really good chance. I think you are the favourite now… been together for five years.”
Arsenal kicked off their campaign with a 1–0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford. With new signings like Viktor Gyökeres and Martín Zubimendi, the Gunners look ready to challenge for the title after finishing second three years in a row.
Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville agrees with Salah’s assessment, saying Arsenal’s consistency and squad depth make them serious contenders.
Liverpool’s Title Ambitious
Liverpool began their season with a 4–2 win over Bournemouth, with Salah scoring once again. The club spent nearly £300 million in the transfer window, including a record-breaking deal for Florian Wirtz. Still, Salah remains humble about their chances.
At the PFA Awards, Salah was named Men’s Player of the Year. Reflecting on his performance, he said, “I’m just getting old and I think I can handle the pressure more now. Last season was incredible—the best of my career.”
Liverpool will face Newcastle United next, while Arsenal host Leeds United. With Salah backing Arsenal, the Premier League title race is more exciting than ever.
