Martin Zubimendi Medical Set as Arsenal Completes First Summer Signing.

Arsenal is on the verge of securing its first summer signing, with Martin Zubimendi medical set to take place before finalizing his move to North London according to BBC. The Spanish midfielder has been a long-term target for Mikel Arteta, and the groundwork for his transfer has been in place since January.

Zubimendi, 26, has been a standout performer for Real Sociedad, attracting interest from top European clubs, including Real Madrid and Liverpool. However, Arsenal has remained confident in sealing the deal, with the player reportedly giving his assurances to the club. His £51 million release clause has been met, and all necessary paperwork is in place, making the medical the final step before an official announcement.

With Jorginho bidding farewell to the club and Thomas Partey’s future still uncertain, Zubimendi’s arrival is expected to bolster Arsenal’s midfield. His ability to play as a deep-lying midfielder will provide Arteta with more tactical flexibility, allowing Declan Rice to continue in a more advanced role.

Zubimendi’s signing marks the beginning of what promises to be a busy transfer window for Arsenal. The club is also targeting Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres to strengthen its attacking options. Additionally, efforts are underway to secure new contracts for key players such as Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Gabriel, and Leandro Trossard.

With the medical set to take place soon, Arsenal fans can expect an official announcement in the coming days. The signing of Zubimendi signals the club’s intent to compete at the highest level next season, as Arteta continues to build a squad capable of challenging for major honors.
