Arsenal have reignite their interest in Napoli’s prolific striker, Victor Osimhen, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, before the transfer deadline next week.
Osimhen’s club future has been the subject of much speculation this summer. After requesting to leave Naples, Paris Saint-Germain led the battle to sign the Nigeria international, only to end discussions last month due to their refusal to match Napoli’s asking price.
Chelsea have also shown keen interest in the striker, with talks ongoing between the two clubs.
Corriere dello Sport now claim that Arsenal are back for Osimhen and they could make a late move to sign him away from Napoli.
Napoli, on the other hand, are looking to secure a significant fee for their star player, reportedly around €110 million (£85 million). This competition adds an extra layer of excitement to the transfer saga, as both Premier League giants compete for Osimhen’s signature.
Victor Osimhen has been a standout performer for Napoli, netting an impressive 76 goals in 133 appearances. His goal-scoring prowess has made him one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. Arsenal’s renewed interest comes at a crucial time, as they look to bolster their attacking options and mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title.
Arsenal have already secured the services of Riccardo Calafiori and David Raya on permanent deals. However, the potential addition of Osimhen could be the marquee signing that fans have been eagerly anticipating. With Gabriel Jesus struggling for consistency and Kai Havertz adapting to a new role, Osimhen’s arrival could provide the firepower needed to propel the Gunners to new heights.
