Former Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has made a bold prediction regarding the top three finishers for the 2024/25 season.

Souness told the Daily Mail that he believes Arsenal will win the Premier League title, ending their 21-year trophy drought. The Gunners, under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, have shown significant improvement over the past few seasons, finishing as runners-up in consecutive campaigns. Souness believes this is the year Arsenal will finally overcome their title rivals and lift the trophy.

Despite Manchester City’s dominance in recent years, Souness predicts that Pep Guardiola’s side will finish second this season. City, who have won the league title four times in a row, are aiming for an unprecedented fifth consecutive title. However, Souness feels that Arsenal’s strengthened squad and determination will see them surpass City in the race for the top spot.

Liverpool, now under the management of Arne Slot following Jurgen Klopp’s departure, are predicted to finish third. Souness, a Liverpool icon himself, has high hopes for his former club. He acknowledges the challenges ahead but believes that with the right signings and the return of key personnel, Liverpool can secure a top-three finish.

Souness’ prediction leaves the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa battling for the remaining Champions League spot. Each of these teams has shown potential and ambition, making the race for the top four as competitive as ever.
