Bournemouth’s pursuit of Evanilson comes on the heels of selling their star striker, Dominic Solanke, to Tottenham Hotspur for £65 million. The acquisition of Evanilson is seen as a strategic move to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season. The 24-year-old Brazilian forward has been a standout performer for Porto, scoring 17 goals last season across the Portuguese league and the Champions League.

This transfer is a significant blow to Arsenal, who were reportedly looking to offload Eddie Nketiah to Bournemouth. The Gunners had hoped to secure a deal for Nketiah, but Bournemouth’s decision to sign Evanilson has thwarted those plans. Nketiah, who has struggled for consistent game time at Arsenal, was seen as a potential key player for Bournemouth. However, with Evanilson’s arrival, it appears that Nketiah’s future at Arsenal remains uncertain.

Arsenal are running out of suitors for Nketiah given that Marseille and Bournemouth have dropped out of the race to sign him.

Nketiah has struggled for consistent game time at Arsenal. It remains to be seen if he will stay at the club or seek a move elsewhere in order to secure regular playing time. Arsenal will be hoping that more clubs express interest in Nketiah before the transfer window closes.
