According to David Ornstein, Arsenal’s initial offer for goalkeeper Dan Bentley was quickly turned down since it was far less than Wolve’s asking price.

Dan Bentley has caught the attention of the Gunners, who are eager to increase competition for David Raya and Aaron Ramsdale. Bentley’s acquisition would bolster their goalkeeping depth.

While Arsenal has already secured David Raya on a permanent deal, they are actively seeking a replacement for Aaron Ramsdale in case he expresses a desire to avoid another season on the bench.

Real Madrid’s Andriy Lunin and Joan Garcia from Espanyol are among the options being considered by the Gunners.

Despite making only nine professional appearances for Wolves since joining from Bristol City in January 2023, Bentley impressed during a three-game run of Premier League starts last December, keeping three clean sheets and conceding 13 goals.

Arsenal remains determined to secure Bentley’s services, aiming to strengthen their squad for pre-season and beyond.

If their bid is accepted, personal terms are likely to be swiftly negotiated, even if he ends up as the third-choice goalkeeper rather than a direct backup.
